Lovely pub, I would have liked to have sampled the food but it was early. Great beer, great staff. Nice for a walk to the Long Man.
gorgeous surroundings, pub and delicious food. Staff really friendly and love the interior of the pub. I had the lamb shank roast and wow delicious with a capital D! Husband had the chicken ready and very succulent. Fully recommend
It's a lovely old pub and the setting is fantastic nestled into the downs. Plenty of parking and easy access.Do book, because it's often busy especially at the weekend.Many inredients come from their own farm which is great to see. The food was good though not the best. Whilst I was far from disappointed, there is definitely a little room for improvement.The service was the main reason it lacks a 5 star review, slow and not attentive at all and I never felt looked after. We had to chase them on a number of occasions for basics; cutlery, drinks and the bill!If you've not been then do go, cross it off your Sunday roast pub check list and support a local farm too.Perhaps stop by the 'Long Man Brewery' round the corner too!
Had a lovely evening there with a dozen chums. Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and dog friendly. Food was really nice, highly recommend .
We had a good Sunday roast here. The meat was excellent and portion size was generous. Good selection of real ales and ciders on draught. Also ate here in summer and the outside patio and gardens are lovely. It was quite chilly in the area we sat in last time hence only 4 stars.
