Visited here for dinner and drinks. We arrived to find a very dark and small car-park with a rather unwelcoming sign plastered on the fence saying that you only have 2 hours of parking. Not the best way to kick start the relationship with your about-to-be paying customers. The food was a little underwhelming. Hunters chicken was clobbered together with pulled pork. Never before had hunters chicken with pork also. The pork overpowered the entire dish. I found a large bone in the pulled pork which I put aside but you really don't expect to find a bone in a meal which was chicken breast and pulled pork (pulled being, pulled off the bone).Nice location and member of staff working front of house was friendly enough. It's a shame the quality of food was not up to par. Won't be returning.
The most Friendly pub with home made cheese, what more do you want. Such a great, great place. A really unique and friendly atmosphere. Im always happy when i find somewhere that serves a ploughmens, but one with such amazing and home made cheeses, just blew my mind. Will be back very soon
This is the second time we've had their special Christmas Day lunch. Pricey, but an excellent, five course meal. Friendly staff and a convivial atmosphere. The only criticism is not actually their fault, but it does get very noisy in there, and people have to almost shout to be heard. Not very relaxing!
A really great country pub. Warm and really friendly. Only giving 4* as i didn't eat there just stopped for a quick drink. I would like to go back though. Recommend highly after a walk to see the long man
Brilliant Sunday lunch here. Im sure the a la carter is just as good.Perfect for families and dogs. Take the walk to the scenic Giant Man of Wilmington chalk carving to burn up some calories. Fantastic range of local craft beers and wines too
